Iran Denies Report on Jackson's Meeting With Iranian Officials

TEHRAN An informed source in the Foreign Ministry Categorically denied Tuesday a report by the London-based daily newspaper Al-Hayat which quoted Jackson as saying he met Iranian officials recently in Switzerland. The Arab-language paper said Monday that U.S. Civil Rights Leader Jesse Jackson has met Iranian officials on the sidelines of the Crans Montana World Forum. The daily also said that Jackson hopes to visit Iran to appeal to officials for the release of 13 Iranian Jews arrested on charges of spying for Israel. Speaking to IRNA, the Foreign Ministry's source said non of the Iranian delegates who participated in Crans Montana World Forum, June 24-29, met and talked to Jackson. (IRNA)
